Restore a destroyed world through technology.

ChronoRevert is a first-person 3D puzzle-platformer set in a post-apocalyptic future where the world has fallen to an unknown disaster. From a dingy underground bunker, you play as Hank, a cynical scientist and seemingly lone survivor, using decaying machines to uncover the truth and undo what’s been lost. Through your equipment you can experience worlds inspired by past technologies, blending platforming, puzzles, and exploration in a vivid mix of analogue nostalgia, neon cyber aesthetics, and glitch effects. Guided (and irritated) by an indestructible beetle companion, you’ll repair circuits, traverse cyberspace, and recover fragmented memories, ChronoRevert is a journey of reflection, reconstruction, and rediscovering hope in the ruins of progress.

Gameplay

Inside the bunker, decaying equipment serves as portals into virtual worlds, each connecting to lost eras of technology. Completing them gradually brings life back to earth, your questions as to the earth's demise are answered, what’s lost is returned.

Enter cyberspace taking control of Hank’s virtual avatar, H4NK, to navigate a side-scrolling platformer filled with spikes, lasers, and timed quick events. The arcade-style world blends early PC aesthetics with neon visuals and digital glitches, while a quirky “bug” companion, literally a bug in the system, appears to guide you through the chaos.

Solve a series of 2D circuit puzzles, experimenting with each element’s function and behaviour to complete the circuit. A game of trial and error, test your logic and supply the correct amount of power to complete the level.

Navigate a burning chamber floating to each platform to collect forgotten CDs. Avoiding electrified walls and surrounding lava, or risk getting  burned onto a CD forever.

How To Play 

The control scheme in each level is slightly different, as such there are hints within the game to help you out.

About Us 

We developed ChronoRevert during our final year of university, inspired by our shared interest in the relationship between technology and the environment. The game explores the connections between humans, climate, and machines, inviting players to reflect on how our actions shape the world around us.
